There are literally hundreds of articles today about Josh Hamilton’s 28 home runs in the first round of last night’s home run derby, so I’m not going to ramble on about that. What impresses me about this guy is his character. I love a good Cinderella story – anyone who knows me even a little bit will tell you I’m a huge fan of the happy ending – but this one is even better than the original. His is a happy ending because of his hard work, not because someone else rode in on a white horse and rescued him. And he gives back – he’s not just about him. He warns the kids not to make his mistakes, he talks to the parents of kids fighting drugs and alcohol - he makes a difference. Way to go Josh.
